We export billions of dollars to 80 countries around the world: Mustafa Jabbar
Apart from digital device exports, Bangladesh is now earning billions of dollars in exports from 80 countries, said Posts and Telecommunications Minister Mustafa Jabbar.
The minister was speaking as the chief guest at the Virtual Inauguration of Automation of CA Examination System Software organized by the Institute of Chartered Accountants, Bangladesh (ICAB) in Dhaka on Monday night.
He said Bangladesh would lead the fourth industrial revolution if the talents, skills and creativity of the young people of the country could be utilized. Today's young generation is growing up with digital skills. They need to give digital education.
Highlighting the importance of technology in auditing programs, the Minister said that in this age of digitalization, chartered accountants need to be aware of the latest methods of auditing in line with technology for professional reasons.
Mustafa Jabbar, the pioneer of Bangla software on computers, said it was essential to acquire skills in using various software applications and technologies. Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman has sown the seeds of digital Bangladesh through establishing Betbunia Sattelite Centre, T&T Board and other establishments and securing membership of ITA while Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, through her visionary leadership, has transformed it into a huge tree, he opined.
Mr. Mustafa Jabbar said that ICAB's initiative in taking exams through software is an example for others, adding that it is possible to use this software in the national and international arena in the field of education in ongoing Corona situations. He said Digital Bangladesh means Bangabandhu's conviction to establish Sonar Bangla. Following this, Bangladesh has set an example in the world.
ICAB President Mahmudul Hasan Khasru FCA, ICAB Vice President Md. Abdul Quader Joardar FCA and ICAB official Swadesh Ranjan Saha spoke on the occasion. ICAB Vice President Maria Hawlader FCA presented the keynote address at the event.
According to the program, ICAB has undertaken 19 projects for digitization of which 75% have been implemented. The Minister welcomed the efforts of the company and called for digitalization of the entire organization including Chartered Accountancy.
